Selflane POS connects to EPSON receipt printers for receipt printing and kitchen printing.
Printer selection
EPSON offers many thermal printers and impact printers for Point of Sale uses. We recommend the TM-T20III (affordability), TM-m30 (smaller footprint), TM-T80VI (faster speed), and TM-U220 (black-red color printing) printers. These printers all come with different connection options, but Selflane POS only supports the ethernet connection option.
You can purchase these printers either from us or other vendors. We suggest that you should consider purchasing new printers unless you are sure about the quality of the used items.
Printer connection
Selflane POS iPads use WiFi connections. The printers need to connect to the same router that provides the WiFi for your iPads. With the iPads and the printers under the same network, the Selflane POS can find and send tickets to these printers properly.
Running ethernet cable to your front desks and kitchen stations is highly recommended for reliable connections. You can use ethernet switches in the front or kitchen to add ports for multiple devices.
Once connected the printer to the router and the printer got an assigned IP address, we recommend you to either set up the IP address as a static address (using EpsonNet Config) or reserve the IP address in the router (using the admin page of your router). It will ensure that the printers use the same IP addresses in the long run.
Printer Setup
Go to the Selflane POS App on iPads, log in to the account, click More -> Printers. Click the Add button on the top-right corner and navigate to the Discover Printer screen. All EPSON printers in the network will automatically show up on this screen. Click on them to set them to the correct stations.
It's perfectly OK to set up the same printer to printer different station tickets. For example, a small shop may use the same printer to print tickets for customer receipts and kitchen tickets.
