PAX S300 credit card terminal is an ethernet cable connected device that supports chip reading, swiping, contactless payment, Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.
Connect PAX machine to your network
Use an ethernet cable connect the machine to your network router.
Find IP address
Click Func (blue key) and Number 1 keys together, enter the password (default is today's date in the format of MMDDYYYY, e.g. 09012020 or ask your provider for the password). Select Communication, enter the same password again, select LAN Parameters
.
Under the LAN Parameters, select IP address. Once your device received a IP from the network, it's a good practice to set it to static IP. To do so, select LAN Type under LAN Parameters and select Static.
Enter IP in Selflane POS
In the Selflane POS app, select More tab, and select Settings. Enter the IP address under the line for PAX Credit Card Machine IP Address.
Troubleshooting Communication Error
1. Make sure the iPad is in the same network as the credit card machine.
For example, check if the IP of iPad has different subnet from the credit card machine's IP. Double check if the printers working fine. If the printers are also not working, it's most likely that iPad used an incorrect network.
2. Make sure PAX machine's ethernet cable is connected
It's possible that the ethernet cable is loose so the machine failed to connect to network. You can test it by go to Communication -> LAN Parameters -> Ping and check if the machine pings Google server properly. It should keep showing Ping OK ... ms.
